08 Jun Goat Cheese, Meyer Lemon, & Edible Flower Crostini
One of my very favorite things to do on the weekends or when preparing for a guest visit, is to put together a tasty, SIMPLE, and pretty appetizer.
You can dress up any meal with a lovely extra course that makes your kitchen seem extra fancy (even when it only took 5 minutes to put together)! Just four simple ingredients and you’ve got the perfect start to your soirée:
These edible salad flowers are the perfect punch of color and add a delicious fresh flavor to all sorts of dishes!
I purchased mine at a local cheese shop, but if you’re more of an online shopper, I also found them HERE.
The olive oil is also from a local olive oil shop, but they happen to have an online store HERE.
Warning: you may get some unsolicited help while prepping…..
Goat Cheese, Meyer Lemon, & Flower Crostini
Ingredients:
- Tasty loaf of bread (French Boule shown here)
- Goat cheese
- Meyer Lemon Olive Oil
- Salad Flowers
Method:
- Slice your loaf into thin (1/2 inch) rounds. Spread a generous layer of goat cheese (if goat cheese isn’t your thing, you can use any soft cheese here). Sprinkle with salad flowers and drizzle with olive oil. Yes, it is THAT easy!
- Pair with a white wine with good acidity: Blanc de blancs champagne, a dry Riesling, a Sancerre, or a Vouvray.
